Hi everyone, have you received our message about class agents? We already have agents from class of 1960 and 80s onwards, but so far no one from the 70s... where are you?! If you want to volunteer, just drop me a line. Abraços.

Cláudia Brandão     Class of: other     Monday, March 26, 2007 13 31

I would suggest going to the local Brasilian Councilit there in Atlanta (I'm sure there's one there.) Not sure what they will require, but it's a place to start.

Hi Everyone, I have a question. Does anyone know how to obtain a working visa for Brazil and what are the channels you have to go through?. My friend in Atlanta is wanting to move to RIO and work so, I thought I would ask. Hope to get a response back soon. Thanks a bunch, Pat

For those of you who remember Harry Schurch, our history/sociology teacher in 74, 75, I just discovered something amazing about him. Apparently, he was amoung the group of Californian teenagers who went out to Hawaii around 1957 or so and were the first to attempt to ride the legendary monster waves at Waimea Bay. According to Corky Carrol, a surfing legend himself, Harry Schurch was actually the first to ride that monster wave - starting the history if big wave riding that continues today with guys like Laird Hamilton, etc. Rent the movie "Riding Giants" to see what I'm talking about. I just thought that was pretty f***ing cool! Nobody seems to know where he is now, hopefully still surfing somewhere!

The reunion was a wonderful experience. Vivian, Claudia, Silvia, Superintendent Steve, and everyone else deserves a warm thank you for all the effort that made this reunion a blast-and-a-half! Check out the EAC website for some of the photos. Hope the rest will get posted soon.

Craig Williams     Class of: 1978     Monday, August 28, 2006 19 27

ok, this message board seems to be working again. My apologies to anyone who's tried to post recently, it wasn't behaving correctly for a couple of days. my web host provider changed some settings without warning or explanation... But after a hour or so of headscratching and trial and error, I think I've fixed it! So post away!

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Saturday, August 26, 2006 12 27

i wont be back in states for a few more days, but you can visit the eac alumni site, they´ve posted some pics already. i think the url is http://alumni.eac.com.br

ChristinaGeld     Class of: 1978     Tuesday, August 8, 2006 7 0

Thanks, Fritz and Vivian for the encouragement but I just couldn't pull it all together for a last minute trip. And thanks, Craig, for the offer of the photo. Sure hope there'll be another reunion in the not too distant future!!! As for next weekend, my heart at least will be there...

Brenda Ibold (Quigley)     Class of: 1973     Sunday, August 6, 2006 20 12

just in case anyone is contemplating a last minute decision to go to brazil, I just got my passport renewed and a tourist visa done within 7 business days (via abriggs.com)... so THERE'S STILL TIME!!! especially if you already have a passport and only need the visa...

I actually still have three a "Vote Brenda for Entertainment" posters. And I have a wooden "Recife" sign stolen from the meet we hosted in 1969 (?).

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Friday, July 28, 2006 9 46

Danny!! It's been sooooo long! Hopefully, the memories are as entertaining for you as for me:)

Brenda Ibold     Class of: 1973     Friday, July 28, 2006 7 26

Brenda, I will scan in the photo and email it out to you, assuming your email address in the database is still current. But I first have to install the scanner and bring the system up. May not get to it before I leave for EAC though.

Craig Williams     Class of: 1978     Thursday, July 27, 2006 19 30

Thanks for the tip, Fritz. I did give them a call and checked out everything else but with my daughter's college tuition due within the month, I'm going to have to beg off and hope there's another reunion down the road. Hoping you have a great time, though!!

Brenda Ibold     Class of: 1973     Thursday, July 27, 2006 15 2

Brenda, if you really want to go there's still time, but you gotta act fast, as in today! If you live close enough to a brazilian embasssy and a US passport office, you could do it yourself, otherwise you could use an American "dispanchante"... I'm using A Briggs to renew my passport and get a visa, I submitted my documents via Fedex last Friday, they tell I should get a new passport with a visa back in the middle of next week. The A Briggs web site has all the info you need - at www.abriggs.com.

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Thursday, July 27, 2006 8 28

It is very nice to see all of you still communicating with each other online!! Hope everyone is well. I also hope to keep in better touch with everyone. Mil beijos da Kim na praia linda do Texas.

Kim Stephens     Class of: 1978     Wednesday, July 26, 2006 18 31

I only wish I'd heard about the reunion a little earlier. But I've no passport, etc and it doesn't look like I can make the time crunch. I sure wish I could get a look at that 1969 yearbook - sure sounds like me!

Brenda Quigley Ibold     Class of: 1973     Wednesday, July 26, 2006 17 30

Brenda, I am bringing a copy of the 1969 yearbook down to the reunion in a couple of weeks. It has a picture of the Science Club; you are surrounded by four young men. ;-)

Craig Williams     Class of: 1978     Tuesday, July 25, 2006 21 36

Hi Brenda, I've been looking for you for a long time. I had hoped to reach you before we had the big reunion, but assumed you had married and changed your last name. I, of course, have a copy of the yearbook you're looking for and would be happy to copy it for you. You can contact me directly at work, akaminski@mkelaw.com and give me your mailing address.

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, July 25, 2006 9 23

...I never even thought to look until my daughter told me there was a website for the alunmi of EAC. And here you are, names and messages from the kids I grew up with. Holy, holy! It would be great to hear from any of you that remember me. I've tried to register on the official site, but haven't had a response yet so impatience has gotten the better of me. What I'm really looking for is a copy of the 1971 yearbook. Mine magically disappeared a decade ago during my divorce. If anyone has a copy please let me know!

Brenda Quigley Ibold     Class of: 1973     Saturday, July 22, 2006 19 20

Since Miami did not happen this year, we now have a full year to prepare for a 2007 Miami reunion. I suggest a team of 3 or so people to research and pick a hotel. Sounds like most people were OK with the end of June, so let's keep that the way it is. If we send out announcements by the end of the year, that gives everyone six months notice. Does anyone want to volunteer to work on the selection of a hotel?

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, July 4, 2006 20 34

Pat, you can find an email address for John's in the directory on this site, tho I dont know if it's current. Click "Communication" up there ^ and then click directory. you'll have to enter a user id and password. the user id is "eac" and the password is the mascot name for EAC sports teams... (hint: very very large people!).

Fritz     Class of: 1976     Friday, June 23, 2006 13 57

Hey, do any of you know how to get in touch with John Farnum or Glen Brown. Class of 1976. Even thought Glen left in the middle of the school year to go back to Texas. Have a great Father's Day for all that are. Pat

Pat Graham     Class of: 1976     Saturday, June 17, 2006 11 52

I didn't want to write this message in the last spot. For all who knew Matt Warrick. His mother passed away this past week. Send you thought and prayers to him and his family.

Pat Graham     Class of: 1976     Saturday, June 17, 2006 11 50

Looks like my towel has to be thrown in for the Miami event. Started a new job and well you know how that goes. If Miami doesn't materialize this year. Let's try to rent a beach house for next year.

Pat Graham     Class of: 1976     Saturday, June 17, 2006 11 48

Is it time to throw in the towel on Miami this year?

Hey Mike (Mike Richards, I presume?). I havent made definite plans yet but it looks like I'll come down to campinas a day or two before the reunion and come back a day or so after the reunion.. no salvador trip this time around.

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Tuesday, May 30, 2006 8 50

Fritz, What date will you leave for Campinas and also Salvador for some surfing?

Mike     Class of: ??     Saturday, May 27, 2006 22 6

Better take me off the Miami list. I just got divorced, bought my house and it's literally falling apart. I'm going to have to put all my time and money into reviving it.

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, April 25, 2006 13 33

Hello everyone, Guess who the EAC spotlight is on??? Mr. Fritz!!.... take a look and then register for the Campinas Reunion..... voces nao podem perder!!! Beijos

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Friday, April 14, 2006 16 30

Has everyone seen who has registered as YES??!!!.... our dear, DNA. ISIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Monday, March 27, 2006 15 38

....well Steve, I think that most of the people are waiting, just like you, to see who will really attend to decide whether to come or not......but I wish people would at least register as "THINKING" (as you did) .... this way people would have an idea of who´s planning or thinking on coming to Campinas.... ....who are the folks you know or knew??.... maybe I can try to find them for you (if I know them).....Abraços

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Monday, March 27, 2006 15 36

Vivian - I have been sending e-mails to folks I know/knew and asking if they are going...not getting much response. I guess perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my last posting...Portugues isn't good any more :) What I really mean is that I'll go if the right people that I went to school with, while I was there, go...otherwise, I don't think I will attend. True there are more reasons to go than just that; it's just that's my main reason for going. To see the people that I knew then but haven't seen in 30 or more years. I'm keeping a close eye on who has signed up and who hasn't. There's plenty of time to make the necessary arrangements to make it happen, so I'm going to hold for a while and wait and see. I will decide by the end of June for sure. Steve

Steven     Class of: 1976     Monday, March 27, 2006 13 1

Hello Tina..... I wrote you a message the other day, did you ever receive it?.... hope to see you here in Campinas soon also! Beijos.

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Friday, March 24, 2006 6 39

Olá Steve Strasma, Que bom ver voce praticando o seu Portugues!!! ..... we are really wishing to see you here, but as you have seen not very many have signed up on the EAC page, but for sure we have news that many people are planning on coming, but unfortunately leave to sign up at the last moment..... I´m sure you´ll have a blast and lot´s of fun for your buck!!..... heheheh...... Se voce quer ver muitas pessoas la, entao nos ajude a animar os outros!!!..... we need your help to talk to other people and get people to register as soon as possible and come on down!! Hope to see you in August! Abraços

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Friday, March 24, 2006 6 28

Fritz -- You made me laugh. I still so often think of the days where all we did was sit by the pool and sign chits. We'd watch Jimmy Bowman and the Stolakis's go off and play golf and the rest of us would just sit by the pool... Hanging out year after year after year... Sigh.

Tina     Class of: 1979     Thursday, March 23, 2006 23 58

no steve I still don't golf and I certainly wont be getting up at 7:30 in the damn morning... but I wouldn't mind going out to the golf club to hang around the pool and drink brahmas and eat steak sandwiches (and ogle the pan am stewardesses and sign the chits so that our parents pay for it all, haaa hahaaa..)

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Thursday, March 23, 2006 15 39

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, March 23, 2006 13 22

I am polishing off a few details then I'll make my final decision. Fritz - pull my name off the Miami listing if you will...I'm almost positive that if I do not go to Campinas then I won't go to Miami either (there just aren't enough people that are interested in going to justify going). Another thing that will help me make my final decision of going to Campinas will be who and how many people sign up to go. Right now with only a few over a handful, I'd be inclinded not to come. It isn't that I don't want to see the people that are going; that has nothing to do with it, it's just the expense and wanting to get the biggest bang for my buck! Eu quero va la muito; embora, eu quero muito personas vindo la tambem. Quando eu sabe isso, eu vontade meu decisao...ta bon? I'm practicing my Portugues in preparation for the trip :)

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, March 23, 2006 12 56

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Tuesday, March 21, 2006 14 33

Has anyone tried to get onto the EAC Alumni website today? I've been trying all morning and cannot get access. Even when I try and go to the reunion website it shoots me to the Miami reunion information. Just curious because I want to register...I think I'm going to go to Campinas instead of Miami. Not sure yet; still working out the details, but there's a good chance I'll be there!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, March 21, 2006 12 46

Look everyone, even Shideh (class 1975) will be here at the EAC Reunion!!!..... we all will have a lot of fun!!!!.... come on people, please register at the EAC site, even if you are still thinking. See all of you soon!!!!

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Tuesday, March 21, 2006 8 30

Hi Everyone. Looks like there is some activity for the Miami Reunion. I am still not sure about going since the dates land on my son Austin's birthday. Hope to just get there with my crazy work schedule. Thank goodness for the frequent flyer miles my friend gave me. LOL. Have a great one. Tina C. where are you now?. Please tell Joe "Sure Joe" hi for me. Went on the web and saw his farm. Awesome. Pat Graham

Pat Graham     Class of: 1976     Monday, March 20, 2006 14 24

Dearest everybody!! Am happy to ''hear'' we will probably see each other in Campinas...please DO NOT let Miami stop you from coming to Brasil!!! It will break my heart in pieces...as Vivian says, ''please, pretty please with sugar on top''!!!!???

Shideh Bartar Granfar (Isfahani)     Class of: 1975     Wednesday, March 15, 2006 7 47

Thanks Fritz. I will get Joe to sign up. Or try to. I am trying to figure out flights down there. Holly? Tyson? Can't you do your magic and get more people down to Campinas like you helped get us all to Dallas?

Tina     Class of: 1979     Monday, March 13, 2006 23 17

Tina, to see who's signed up for campinas, go to this page!.

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Friday, March 10, 2006 6 56

I could easily be persuaded to go to the Campinas Reunion but I can't seem to be able to find a list of who is planning to go. The Geld's I would guess. My brother Joe and even my mom are planning on going. Until yeseterday I could have told you I could get you to SP for about $600 but United just raised their rates. I'd love to see everyone and I will most likely go to one or the other. I do have a hard time planning my time because work sends me away often and on short notice. But if I am free, I will come to Miami -- or Campinas. What is with picking Dallas in August and Miami in July? Are we trying to recreate the Campinas summer ambience? No complaints. Just wondering. Please let me know if anyone knows who will be going to Campinas. Thanks!

Tina     Class of: 1979     Thursday, March 9, 2006 23 30

We need people to start signing up for Miami and/or Campinas reunion! Everyone is waiting to see who is going but not putting their name on the list so there are only a handful signed up and I know a lot more are considering it. So...take the plunge and SIGN UP!! :)

Holly     Class of: 1978     Thursday, February 23, 2006 21 27

I concur, those days in June (23-25) would work for me! Have we decided on a hotel yet? Is anyone going to rent a car or perhaps a minivan? How has that been handled in the past at other reunions? When we all got together in Virgina all those years ago, there were several people that drove, so transportation wasn't an issue...might be in this case? Just curious. It also looks like there may be a good number of people that are going, should we start planning on some or any formal events, or is it too early for that?

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, February 22, 2006 13 26

My vote is for June 23-25...

Tyson Roe     Class of: 1980     Tuesday, February 21, 2006 22 18

Sue Miller and Bob Stephens visited the Richards in freezing FW this past weekend. We all had a great dinner with Steve Burt and wife at Boi Na Braza, and all agreed to meet again in Miami. Fritz, add us all to the list. I will be in Brasil in August. A final date needs to be settled. Tyson, Fritz, Ann R., can you guys make a final?

MIke R     Class of: ??     Tuesday, February 21, 2006 20 4

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, February 21, 2006 10 55

just added a new page that includes who's planning to go to miami and a way to sign up for miami, click on reunions2006 above ^...

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Saturday, February 18, 2006 12 19

I agree with you about having some sort of posted sign-up...definitely stirs interest to see people's names who are planning on coming. Hey Mikey, I already erased the note that you sent out announcing the possiblity of a Miami reunion...did you mention this website as a place for folks to come and get reconnected? Just seeing posted messages is fun...I had not heard from Tina C for several years. Very cool...

Tyson Roe     Class of: 1980     Thursday, February 16, 2006 14 17

I'm not saying we necessarily need any "planned" events, I was looking more for a sign-up sheet so we can tell who is coming...as far as what we do if and when we are there, it doesn't matter to me. We'll find things to do I'm sure. Now if there ends up being a lot of people that want to go, then we can become more organized. I'd be happy to do it!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, February 16, 2006 13 13

Hey Steve, I'm not opposed to some "planned" events at the Miami reunion...it's just that we haven;t seen anyone local there step up and say they would organize it. If any lurkers out there reading this board want to put some time into it, I'm all for it!

Tyson Roe     Class of: 1980     Wednesday, February 15, 2006 21 48

I'll put some sort of signup thingy in place soon, for Miami.

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, February 15, 2006 13 8

I know that Miami is currently informal; however, I would still like to see some sort of "formal" plan and a place to "sign-up" so that we have some idea of who's going and who's not...maybe one of the computer wizards (from Demons and Wizards) can come up with a way to do that somewhere in here...perhaps a link to a sign-up sheet??? Fritz??? Aren't you a Demon from way back? Here lies the Rainbow Demon, heart of gold and crimson fire...black shadows are following closely, on the wings of his desire...bring back any memories for anyone??? Hey Harold - are you still planning on being around Dallas that first week of March, last week of February? I'll be there, just let me know if you wanna get together!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, February 14, 2006 13 9

Hello Tyson! I will e-mail you. Am off to Italy tomorrow and am madly getting ready. I'll go where ever you go! Lisa Brydon is also thinking about it. She had heard about Campinas but not the Miami thing. Do your magic on this Miami and/or Campinas thingy and I can try to do both. I need to go to Brazil to see Joe anyway so... Besides, I am working for a company that has been selling East Coast to Brazil for $599.00 complete with transfers and five nights hotel in Rio so getting to Brazil is actually cheaper than Miami. How are you?!! Where are you. OK. I'll e-mail. Beijos. Tina

Tina     Class of: 1979     Tuesday, February 14, 2006 0 5

Hey Tina! Its been awhile...what have you been up to? Email me sometime and catch me up...roedds@nc.rr.com; as far as the reunion this summer, I gather there has been some consternation on the part of some of the folks in Campinas...they kind of feel like a Miami gathering could diminish the turnout in Brasil... I doubt that. Either way, the Miami idea was suggested as an alternative for those who wouldn't be able to go to Brasil. My guess is it will be primarily folks from the '69-81 era (the only ones we care about!) Very informal, with everyone making their own reservations at an as-yet-undetermined hotel and little to no planned activities, but lots of beach/pool time . Do you think you will come? It has great potential for frivolity...

Tyson Roe     Class of: 1980     Monday, February 13, 2006 21 53

I don't think there is anything set-up for Miami registration. So far, that I know of there are only a handful of people that had indicted an interest. I'm planning on going for sure if enough people go; if just a couple end up going then I probably won't.

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Monday, February 13, 2006 12 26

Tina - Nice to know that you´re interested in coming to the Campinas Reunion! To see the program, to subscribe or to see who´s coming, go to the EAC Alumni Site and look for the EAC Alumni Reunion, Reunion sign up list and Reunion confirmation list. I think that will do it. Esperamos por voce!!

Vivian     Class of: 1975     Monday, February 13, 2006 11 15

Oops. I meant Miami and Campinas.

Tina Crescenzi     Class of: 1979     Sunday, February 12, 2006 21 59

Hello. Is there a list somewhere of who is going to Dallas and or Campinas? I just heard about this a couple of weeks ago. Sounds good to me. Both Miami and Campinas.

Tina Crescenzi     Class of: 1979     Sunday, February 12, 2006 21 38

sooo... anymore thoughts about hotels????

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Friday, February 10, 2006 16 3

Gloria - I accidentally erased your e-mail before I could respond...I remember!!! I saw the pictures and was going back to respond and hit the empty key instead. Send me another one and I'll respond...I have spent soooooooo much time on the computer today that I got carried away with my key-stroking!!!! Steve

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, February 7, 2006 18 1

It's 12:00 noon and I still haven't gotten an e-mail. I hope it isn't going to my bulk folder cause I may have deleted it by accident. I don't even look at that folder. I just delete it once in a while. If you come back to this board, leave me something I'll be able to recognize when I see your e-mail. Looking forward to it!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, February 7, 2006 12 54

I did not get anything yet...please try again!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, February 7, 2006 7 42

Where is my fredonia friend? It wasn't me that posted that comment about being a guessing game...I was rather enjoying it...so let's as I suggested move off this board...send me an e-mail at plasz@yahoo.com. Don't leave me hangging now that you've come this far :) Sorry about taking up board space...we won't do it anymore. Steve

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Monday, February 6, 2006 13 43

in case you didnt get the email, eac just announced their program for the reunion, including hotel contact info, costs, activities schedule, etc. if you didn't get it, it's because you didnt register at the eac site yet, so go register now, at http://alumni.eac.com.br/

there also a place there to register for the reunion.

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Thursday, February 2, 2006 18 59

To the rest of you, sorry about the distraction...as far as the hotel is concerned, I would be willing to pay extra to have a nicer place to play...why couldn't we even share rooms if that's an issue for some?

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, February 2, 2006 12 51

I remember a lot of faces and a few names; I'll just give the girls names I remember since I'm guessing you're one of them...a female I mean: Nancy McDonald, Pam Smith, Lori Fitzmorris, Darla Morgan, Cheryl Matlock, Patti Bambick, Charlotte Chambers, Annette Cole, Barb Goyer, Cindy Ratzlaff, the Shinkle sisters, Marsha McBride, Jo Williams, Debbie Tearse, Rosemary something and a few more first names...Patty, Penny...I'd have to think long and hard to remember any more specific names but probably could after some time. Since you apparently are making me guess, I have a few questions...were we friends? Did we hang out together? Did we have mutual friends? Did you live close to me...of course in Fredonia, that wouldn't really count since everyone lived close :) Can you describe yourself then? Maybe we should take our conversation off this message board since this is for people that were in Brasil together...we can go on here but I don't want to bore everyone else. You can e-mail me at plasz@yahoo.com. I also remember that there was a girl named Jackie Ground that lived in Fredonia and later moved to Brasil (Her dad also worked for ADM), but she did not attend EAC, so I guessing you are not her either. I must say I'm somewhat befuddled!!! (In a good curious way.)

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, February 2, 2006 7 59

yeah, so what's your point? That's what 3-way mirrors are for! I met a lot of hippies in my day...not telling me anything!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, February 1, 2006 15 23

" I think you were one of the first guys in our class to start growing facial hair! " which tells me he was probably the first to start sproutin' hair in his ears and nose, haaaaaa..

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, February 1, 2006 15 4

" I think you were one of the first guys in our class to start growing facial hair! " which tells me he was probably the first to start sproutin' hair in his ears and nose, haaaaaa..

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, February 1, 2006 15 3

I didn't want to say anything about the hair cause I didn't want to embarass the rest of the men here...but what the hell :) I still have all my hair...no balding! Just shorter than it was all those years ago. In fact, after I left Fredonia it got pretty long...ahhhhh, the good old days! I haven't been back there since the summer of 1975 and would love to come back...I'll bet things haven't changed!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, February 1, 2006 13 10

Bring it on Mr...I can shoot the eyes, both of them, out of a crow while it is flying after a 747 from a hundred yards away...me and Butch Cassidy...okay I have to know who my Fredonia friend is...the suspense is killing me!!! Definitely not Lindsey. Do you still live in Fredonia? And I was only yanked out of her class because she didn't see things my way...which was always the right way as I recall :) Well, okay it seemed that way then...still does...I'm incorrigible! And now you've told all my Brasilian friends here about me and tarnished my already bad reputation. Most here would tell you that some things never changed! I got yanked out of a lot of other classrooms in Brasil as well. When are those damn teacher gonna learn that I knew better?

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, February 1, 2006 13 1

old? u callin me old? ok, strasma, pistols at dawn!

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, February 1, 2006 10 26

The board is a lot like the person running it...OLD!!! Older than me and that's all that counts!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, January 31, 2006 13 16

Of course I remember Fredonia...I was there for about 3 years and it was pretty cool actually...who is asking??? Must be a Lindsey...an old ADMer for sure. For a small town in the middle of absolutly nothing we managed to get into as much trouble as possible!!! You have to watch those people in Kansas! I even get out my yearbook from time-to-time and see how handsome I was even way back then :) I was there from 1969 to 1972ish before moving to Decatur Ill...we were there for about 6 months then off to Brasil...I have many fond memories of Fredonia...go Yellows!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, January 31, 2006 13 12

don't worry yellowjacket, I'll delete the repeats.(later today).. this message board is kinda old and rickety haha

Fritzzzzz     Class of: 1974     Tuesday, January 31, 2006 7 26

I don't know why it printed my message four times. I apologize for the waste.

Yellowjacket     Class of: ??     Monday, January 30, 2006 22 58

Hey SteveStrasma! Remember Fredonia?

Yellowjacket     Class of: 1976     Monday, January 30, 2006 22 55

The program for EAC Campinas Reunion is almost ready and looking great. Will be out in a few days!!.... preparem-se!!

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Monday, January 30, 2006 13 34

Ann, of course I remember you. Fritz - glad you!ll come to Brazil. As I said before, 3 or 4 people can stay at my place. Just tell me. Beijos!

Gladys     Class of: 1973     Friday, January 27, 2006 14 10

Hey Patricia, ask your roommate about other sections of Miami that we might look into (that are not too far from the airport and may be cheaper...but still on the beach). Thanks,

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Friday, January 27, 2006 13 5

hey jim, I meant the official eac alumni site over at http://alumni.eac.com.br/. it seemed like it was down for a couple of days, but they are up and running now. btw, they have a place to register for the Campinas reunion and will soon have a page to see who's signed up so far...

Fritz YO!     Class of: 1974     Friday, January 27, 2006 11 52

Are you asking about the eac alumni new site, or the yahoogroup? Are you still having trouble accessing? Both are working for me. Do you have the correct URL? Reunion in Miami, eh? Man. I haven't got *that* much cash! Jim

Yo, Fritz..     Class of: 1981     Friday, January 27, 2006 10 54

here's the google map satelite view of the beacon hotel on ocean drive

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Thursday, January 26, 2006 16 58

Has anyone checked out Hotel Shelly yet?. Ann Rollo's Chesterfield sounds great and to have shuttle from the airport, comp passes as well sounds like a great idea. My roommate is a travel agent and he knows the hotel well. See you in Miami..........where ever we are staying. Pat

Patricia Jane Graham     Class of: 1976     Thursday, January 26, 2006 13 58

i work with a guy from Miami, he thinks that part of south beach is overrated and thuggish (dont know that means?).. he suggested south of 5th or further north....

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Thursday, January 26, 2006 13 20

Hi Gladys!! Remember me??? OK, here's a listing of hotels that are ALL across the street from the ocean (on Ocean Boulevard). Does anyone have a problem spending $150-$175 a night for a room? beacon hotel...79 rooms from 150 per night...no pool.. but dining room betsy ross...66 rooms from 150 per night,,,HAS pool and dining room hotel ocean ...27 rooms from 150 per night...No pool and has dining room cleavlander hotel...57 rooms 160 per night,,,HAS pool,,HAS dining HOWEVER no one under 21 !!! (what goes on there??) paradise beach hotel...160 per night...NO pool,,,dining The South Seas Hotel looks like it is actually on the beach, but it has limited availability during the weekend we're looking at.

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Thursday, January 26, 2006 13 13

I might be able to get one of the native Miami girls to bring them to us!!! (The Chreerios I mean...Fritz don't even think about it!). It really doesn't matter on the hotel to me except that I would prefer a beach view if I'm going all the way to Miami, but you are correct, there are no hotels in South Beach that sit right on the beach. Now if we actually go to Miami instead, I think there are hotels on the beach there (Miami Beach)...I'm pretty sure the Fontainbleau is right on the beach but it's been a long time since I was there and I may be wrong on that.

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, January 26, 2006 12 38

Gladita, I'll be in Campinas in August for sure! about the miami hotel, I dont much care, but it doesn't seem like there's much difference between a beach front hotel and one a block away (unless those are really big blocks?). you know there's a big boulevard and a park between you and the beach anway, so it aint like you're gonna roll out of bed and have your cheerios waiting for you surfside...

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Thursday, January 26, 2006 10 39

Fritz and Mike R. - are you coming to Brazil?

Gladys     Class of: 1973     Thursday, January 26, 2006 9 24

Not sure Fritz...I concur with Ann's comments about the hotel. I would rather pay some more dollars for a nicer hotel on the beach than less for one that's not. Even if it's $50 a night more, for a couple of nights, that's not enough to keep me from going...

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, January 26, 2006 7 52

anybody know what's happened to the eac alumni site, I cant never get to it lately.

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, January 25, 2006 14 33

a sign up mechanism of some sort is coming soon... probably over the weekend, unless I find time sooner.

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, January 25, 2006 14 32

Yes, I think Fritz said he would come up with a list. How are we going to decide on a hotel? There are so many choices. I would also like one on the beach, with at least one lounge, a bar, and a restaurant. An outside bar would be ideal, as would a pool, but that would raise the cost. Since we're only going to be there a few nights, I'd rather pay more for a nicer hotel, like the one we stayed at in Dallas. ann

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Wednesday, January 25, 2006 13 7

Do we have a sign-up sheet somewhere yet? It would be really great to know in advance who's going to Miami and/or Campinas. As far as the hotel is concerned, I would prefer one on the beach so that if I fall down, I'll land in some soft sand!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, January 25, 2006 12 35

I wouldnt leap to any conclusions based on one review... I've been to great hotels that one or two reviewers have trashed.. that said, if all the reviewers trash a place, then it might be wise to stay away, but I dont think that's the case with South Beach hotel. it gets 3 and 1/2 little orange balls, heh heh, out of a possible five on traveladvisor.com

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Tuesday, January 24, 2006 14 23

Have you checked out Hotel Shelly?. It is only 95 a night. You can find it on the website that Ann Rollo suggested. Part of the Chesterfield chain.

Patricia Jane Graham     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, January 24, 2006 14 22

Sorry to hear that the South Beach Hotel is such a dump. It looked good on the website. I will check out the other hotel suggested on the eac lounge. Pat

Patricia Jane Graham     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, January 24, 2006 14 15

http://www.southbeachgroup.com/chesterfield/chesterfield.shtml Located in the core of the Art-Deco district, a stumble away from Ocean Drive and the beach, Art Deco Revival exteriors.... Inside in the lobby, the front desk transforms into turntables... complimentary al fresco breakfast at the outdoor café.... mirrored and open concrete bathrooms complete with rain showers... free airport shuttle, complimentary passes to area nightclubs, complimentary drinks 7-8 pm, Safari Bar & Lounge, Outdoor Café, Rooftop Terrace.

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, January 24, 2006 14 12

Try this website for the South Seas Hotel http://www.southseashotel.com/amenities.html On the beach with a pool (and poolside cafe and bar).

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, January 24, 2006 14 5

Review for South Beach Hotel...ouch! March 16, 2005 Awful hotel - AVOID AT ALL COSTS By A Yahoo! User This was one of the worst hotels we ever experienced. The room looked completely stripped - the bed didn't even have a bedspread (just a sheet), there were no curtains, furniture consisted of one chair (50's vintage, and old color TV and a dirty shower. No elevator was available, so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. We had to ask for an ice - obviously an ice bucket is considered extra. Even though the windows were closed, we could hear people talking outside as if they were in the same room. After looking at the room's accomodations, we immediately asked for our money back. We were told that we could not cancel because we did not give the 3 day cancellation notice and would therefoe be charged the full price of the room. We asked for an upgrade but were told that no other room was available. FYI...we paid $160 for this room. Hardly a bargain.

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, January 24, 2006 13 56

I had suggested the Beacon Hotel (www.beacon-hotel.com). It's more expensive ($185 a night, unless you want an ocean view, which is more), but it is on the beach. I'm willing to pay more to be right on the beach.

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Monday, January 23, 2006 16 7

Hi, everyone! I would love to work out the details to be able to come to the reunion. Still need to do some checking on family plans. I haven't played volley ball in years! (I think it was at the last reunion!)

Marian Valerius Hicks     Class of: 1976     Saturday, January 21, 2006 13 29

thanks for finding a hotel - I wonder, does it have someplace to play volleyball? or can we play on the beach? cuz I think we gotta have some volleyball, that all day game in Dallas '99 was a hoot...

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Friday, January 20, 2006 13 37

Hi Everyone, I found a hotel in South Beach. Told Steve Strasma about it. The name of the Hotel is South Beach Hotel 236 21st Street and Collins. It is in the heart of South Beach in the art district and a block off the beach. Rooms go for 70 dollars a night. You can book Air Tran for your travel needs and the hotel as well. Must use a credit card to do this. Check out the info at airtran.com. My friend is from South Beach and I was talking to her last night about the area and the hotel. She said it is within walking distance to everything and would be a great place to stay. Very Art Deco type of Hotel. Let me know what you think. you can also reach me at pga58@yahoo.com

Patricia Jane Graham     Class of: 1976     Friday, January 20, 2006 13 28

Nancy - very happy to hear from you. It would be great to see both you and Don. I work with the travel business, so if I can help you in any way, please let me know. August is very nice weather here- no EXTREMELY hot, but hot enough for a pool or a beach. Keep in touch. Vivian - se você precisar de qualquer ajuda, por favor me avise!!!! Hope to see all of you here in August. BEIJOS!!!!

Gladys     Class of: 1973     Friday, January 20, 2006 12 3

Pat - if you'll scroll down and look, I already suggested something like that...great minds think alike! Steve

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, January 18, 2006 17 15

I really am going to try to get to Miami. My son's birthday is on the 25th of June so, I will have to see what I can do. Have any of you thought about the Gulf Shores of Alabama or Tybee Island Ga. Less expensive than South Beach. My roommate is a Travel Agent so I will try to see what kind of deals he could put together through his work at all these locations. TTUL, Pat

Patricia Jane Graham     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, January 17, 2006 12 8

I haven~t had much time to log in but I~m happy to see that more and more people are getting involved again in trying to organize another reunion. The Dallas one was GREAT, lots of fun! Right now I~m using the computer in the Library at EAC!!!!! As I~m a preschool teacher here, we are back to work today and the kids will be back next week, January 24. The campus looks gorgeous as Luis Carlos Goes does his best to keep it this way. Hope all is well with everyone, and if anyone needs anyting from EAC, please let me know and I~ll be glad to help out. Carson is slowly but surely recuperating from a stroke suffered in September - he~s back on the farm, still bound to a wheelchair but working hard with fisiotherapy and occupational therapy and has done well. Geld clan got together for Christmas and New Years - Mike is in Mato Grosso, Kenny and Stevie in Sao Paulo and Robin is living in a small town near Campos do Jord"ao, and I~m commuting back and forth from the farm as I~m helping out in farm matters while Daddy recuperates. Family is doing well, nieces and nephews going off to college and coming back to Brazil to find jobs - the stories repeat themselves. Anyways, must get some lunch and them off to smartboard trainig. beijos a todos, o calor estã de matar aqui! love, Christina

Vivian Garcia     Class of: 1975     Tuesday, January 17, 2006 8 46

Donna, I do remember those awesome BB games. Boy, for such a small school, we really played well against the others. When I came back to the US, I played a bit on a BB league. Has anyone heard from Leslie? I know she is in France but would she possibly make this trip to either Miami or Brasi?

Nancy Mathews     Class of: ??     Sunday, January 15, 2006 21 28

Gladys, I will try to get to Brasil. It all depends. I am telling Don Hicks he has to escort me as my Portuguese is bad and also thought I would do some side trips with him. We will see. I hope I am not going to cold weather. Can't remember what August is like but winter in Wisconsin is enough so I treasure my summers. :)))

Nancy Mathews     Class of: ??     Sunday, January 15, 2006 21 26

Nancy M.--still remember those fabulous BB games we had...with you and Leslie B. (I think it was) who had those fast breaks and we beat Assuncion 99 to 10 or something like that. Those were the days. Wish I could see everyone in both Fla. and Brazil, but no such luck since we live so far away and our summer is booked. Hopefully next reunion. Thanks for message Steve Strasma. Think of you all so often... EAC..best years of my life. Abracos fortes.

Hi Fritz. Long time since last communicating about the Dallas trip. I haven't been too good at keeping in touch with everyone. It was nice to get the link as I had misplaced it. I am not always on but will check it periodically. Hope all is well.

CAMPINAS REUNION WILL BE AUGUST 11-13. SATURDAY NIGHT FESTIVITIES WILL BE AT THE ROYAL PALM HOTEL.

MIke     Class of: 1973     Thursday, January 12, 2006 21 25

Steve, there you go thinking again! Be careful! Ann & Jim Dandy... I mean Fritz, I can't commit on Miami yet, but am extremely interested, need a good date well in advance. I'll ask Vic if he is interested, don't know what his futebol coaching schedule is like (pretty busy). Wonder what ever happened to those photo stories done in photography class (73 - 74) Abraços, Harold

H R Luper     Class of: 1975     Thursday, January 12, 2006 15 48

Thanks Fritz - you know how it goes. People are more likely to sign up if they see that their friends are already going.

Ann Rollo     Class of: 1972     Thursday, January 12, 2006 13 43

Fritz - I was thinking something along the lines of "infamous" but that's just me thinkin!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, January 12, 2006 12 27

Nancy Mathews!! howdy! Mikey, to answer your question, I'll do my best to go to both Miami and Campinas... Ann Rollo - I'll see what I can cook up, maybe just a page listing the names of those who've let us know they plan to attend, along with other details as they emerge...

Fritz, Can you start a list somewhere of people who are definite for both Miami and Brasil?

ann rollo kaminski     Class of: 1974     Thursday, January 12, 2006 8 59

Maryanne: If your daughter could find us a few hotels to choose from, that would be a big help. I did find one that I liked (see message somewhere below...), but I think it has to be in South Beach (to be close to the airport), and definitely on the beach, with places for us to congregate inside and out. I'm hoping there will be Brasilian restaurants within walking distance. And tell Jeanne to get herself into this conversation.

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1974     Thursday, January 12, 2006 8 56

Since I have never been involved in a v-ball tourney all bets are off...I am taking offers on recruiting me for a particular team (cash or credit cards are fine)....hell I might even play on both teams...at the same time :) I haven't seen very many class of 76ers on the board, so I may have to make up a one man team, but I think I can take any and all teams that graduated back before 1981 :) I'll be honest, there is no way I can finance a trip to Brasil this year...new job now, but unemployeed for 11 months out of the last two years, so I am definitely going to have to go to Miami...haven't been to South Beach in years...love that place! I suspect it might be difficult for lots of folks to go to Brasil with the way things are in the US these days (really in the world)...I know for sure none of us could afford to drive :) But, on the other hand, I have been surprised in the past! Anyway, I hope to see EVERYONE in Miami...that's the only way I'm going to be able to start my rein of terror on the v-ball court!!! I want everyone involved so there will never again be any discussion or questions about who's the BOSS! And really Harold...only a couple of beers or 4! Trust me! YYYYYEEEEEEHHHHHAAAAAAAA....again for those not from Texas that's Texas for hell yes, Miami in 06!

Steve     Class of: 1976     Thursday, January 12, 2006 8 3

It is spring weather in Dallas area and we need rain badly...anyone in California wanna send us some? As you may understand there are concerns at EAC about this reunion in Miami. Please leave a message on this board if you plan on attending the reunion in Brasil. They need a good head count, or you can send me a message directly. I am hoping to attend both. I have a 25 yr old daughter getting married on the 25th of June. Looking forward to beating the 75 class on Miami beach v'ball. FRITZ, you gonna make Brasil?

Mike R     Class of: 1973     Wednesday, January 11, 2006 23 30

Are there any takers on the Brazil trip in August?

Mary Anne Smith     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, January 11, 2006 19 46

June 20-23 it is. I love South Beach. Daughter (Jennifer) works for the Ritz (Marriott hotel chain) - does anyone want me to check that out? June is actually the beginning of very low season (I think), so rates might not be so bad. All the old people head home after Memorial Day. I don't think anyone in this group is old...Any clue on how many rooms we are talking about? 20? 50?

Mary Anne Smith     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, January 11, 2006 19 44

illustrious? illustritious?? what the hell? boys, we'll have to settle this on the volleyball court...

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, January 11, 2006 18 5

Mike, sounds great for Miami and possibly Brasil. What are the dates for Brasil or is that tentative at this point?

Nancy Mathews     Class of: ??     Wednesday, January 11, 2006 15 40

Hi Harold!! I'm excited you're planning to attend the Miami reunion. I still have my tie-dye t-shirt. In fact, I only wear it on special occasions because I don't want to wear it out. Mikey, did your e-mail direct people to this website so that they can get involved in planning this event?

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1972     Wednesday, January 11, 2006 13 48

Thanks Mike R for you diligence, made it happen for us in Las Colinas - What a bash!!! As far as Fritz, please re-phrase to "...our illustritious Fritz" in keeping with all current and pervious mind set. :-| (no spell-check allowed) There is no way we can go to Brasil now, just married the son away and eldest daughter announced engagement and wedding ambitions for end of the year-ish '06. In the midst of this, Strasma says he is coming to town soon and wants to "have a beer", which will top off my excitement for the year. Just kidding, Steve, looking forward to that... Ann how are you, very long time no see. It would be great to get together and hand out tie-dye shirts and kick y'alls ass in vball again. ;-) I miss everyone, wish you all the best. Please let me know the final Miami plans, you never know what may transpire... Abraços, beijinhos - Harold

H R Luper     Class of: 1975     Wednesday, January 11, 2006 6 15

I just sent out a message to about 350 emails for EAC alumni. It is about the Miami reunion, asking that more speak up and let their comments be known for the reunion in either Brasil or Miami. I hope that both are a great success for all.

Mike R     Class of: 1973     Tuesday, January 10, 2006 21 52

Sargent Steve? I don't think so... anyway, the board is livelier now than its been in ages...

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Tuesday, January 10, 2006 16 20

Wow - message traffic is slllooooowwwwww...where is everyone? We need to liven up this board! Come on people let's get it in gear :) Do I sound like I belong in the military? I do to me!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, January 10, 2006 12 53

I think we're going with June 23-25. I did post a hotel website somewhere below but was waiting to see if anyone else had a suggestion for another hotel.

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1972     Wednesday, January 4, 2006 7 40

As in Jagger??? I'm still about as skinny as he is but not as old looking as he is...good thing too! Although, I'm pretty sure I'd take his life if all I had to do was look like him today :) On the other hand, maybe what you are calling me has nothing to do with Jagger and I just don't remember the significance of "Mick"...that's another thing I'm sure he and I share...memory loss! Pick a date (How many days are we talking about?) and we'll just see what happens. As far as the location goes, if it's going to be South Beach, on the beach, I don't think we can do much wrong. Most places there are going to be nice; I'm sure we could find one that wasn't but you'd have to look pretty hard. End of June first part of July works for me!

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Thursday, December 29, 2005 8 2

Count us four EACer's in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SURPRISE     Class of: ??     Wednesday, December 28, 2005 10 19

I think we have the date picked, but what about location? I suggested a hotel several messages back. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Once we have date and location finalized, we can start spreading the word. I recently spoke to Don Hicks (1970) and he says he'll attend.

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1972     Wednesday, December 28, 2005 8 42

Easy Mick! I mean Steve...

Surprise     Class of: ??     Tuesday, December 27, 2005 16 30

Come on...making us guess is not fair. Narrowing it down to a few years at EAC hardly provides any relevant clues. Okay, new rule...everyone must include their real names :) Now that that is established, you have to provide details...or at least some more pertinent clues as to your identity...come on!!!! We need to get the word out to more EACers. It would be great to get all of us together in Miami at the same time and what better reason than a 50 year school reunion? I can think of none... Any suggestions on how to get the word out would be greatly appreciated.

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Friday, December 23, 2005 12 35

Miami sounds great!! Let's get a nice hotel! I can get 4 EACer's to join in for the get together!! Hint>> We are in the Classes of 76, 78 and 80 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SURPRISE     Class of: ??     Thursday, December 22, 2005 13 56

Hello EAC GIANTS ; I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May God bless and give you all LOVE,PEACE and HARMONY !!! Hope you are all doing well and wish to see you here at Our 50th Anniversary next August 2006.. Best Regards; Luiz Carlos Góes (Carlos)

Luiz     Class of: 1978     Wednesday, December 21, 2005 7 48

That's fine with me. I'll be there with beer mug in hand! The beach house was perfect in that it kept everyone close together and we had a meeting location that worked as well. Most people had beds and others slept on the furniture...I can't remember where I slept :) We also had a happy hour everyday that was required so we could do a head count, make plans for the evening etc. which worked really well too. We played a lot of poker in the evenings and it was private...and it was not on the beach but about 100 feet away maybe two houses in from the beach which was also amazing and made for easy travel...we could drink and nobody had to drive or anything...it was perfect!!! Everyone had the best time...I put it together for the most part, and I'll never forget the hugs and thanks I got for all my efforts. It took me a year (this was before the internet) and it was worth every moment of my time. As I said, I love Miami...you don't have to twist my arm!!! I can always find the bushes! Steve

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, December 14, 2005 12 40

Plasma...I'm glad you're finally going to show up for a reunion! I think Tyson's idea is to do something easy that doesn't need much organizing, which is why the hotel idea is preferable over renting a beach house. Plus I'm too old to be sleeping on the floor...lol. Also, it has to be relatively close to an airport, so I'm still agreeing with his choice of Miami. And there are lots of plants in Miami that we can get lost in!

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, December 14, 2005 8 46

That weekend is good for me. My kids get out of school on the 21st of June.

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, December 14, 2005 8 41

It's ME!!!! I'mmmmm backkkkkkk...don't say I didn't warn ya! Hey Donna - wow it's been a loooooonnnnngggg time. Everything with me is great...new job recently, married, 2 kids...imagine that! Saudi Arabia...how many camels do you own :) Tyson - pick a date, I'll make it work. Key West works for me...the beaches aren't as nice as South Beach and Miami, but the night life is great! (LOVE SOUTH BEACH) Good SCUBA in the area as well...either place is good for that! Ann - how the hell are ya? You thought I have wandered off into one of my plants I'll bet! Still here kicking away! Anyway - SOMEWHERE IN THE US IN 2006...wherever that may be!!! There are also some great resort areas in the panhandle region of Florida, and Gulf Shores Alabama is beautiful as perhaps some other desinations to consider. In fact, some of those areas could be a little less expensive in general. South Beach can be a little pricy!!! We could even consider someplace like Alabama and renting a big beach house which is what we did in Virgina Beach back in the 80s...that was great fun! Everybody just ended up sleeping where ever there was room/beds...that is one of the fondest memories of my entire life. I had a frozen smile on my face for 3 days...it took me a week after just to have a normal looking face again! Isn't this supposed to be EACs 50 year anniversary? I seem to remember reading that somewhere! Steve

Steve Strasma     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, December 14, 2005 8 39

How does everybody feel about June 23-25th, 2006 for a reunion date? Late June, but won't interfere with anybody's 4th of July plans.

Tyson Roe     Class of: 1980     Wednesday, December 14, 2005 8 17

Hi there! Haven't kept up with all the postings, Mike R. is still the best at keeping everybody in the loop. Miami sounds pretty cool. I could make that work. Key West would be cool too! Take care!

Mary Anne Smith     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, December 14, 2005 7 36

To all my good buddies at EAC. A Miami thing would be great for Scott Tollefson (my husband) and I as we reside now and teach in Saudi Arabia--Brazil is a bit far for us. We could do Brazil, but not in 2006--we do want to return there and missed being at reunion at EAC. Great photos you all took. Memories of you all are still so vivid and would love seeing everyone. Would love to hear from Steve Strasma, Cristina Geld, John Farnum (sp?), Steve Stolakis (sp?),Fritz, Charlie B., and Billy boy (think he's still in China with Heidi and fam.) I keep in touch with Alex S. and his family in CA. Our last reunion we attended was in Dallas and it was one of the best times of our lives. My fondest memories are still of EAC years. Mindel D., Barbara Hull, and Barbara Hansen and I still keep in touch and see eachother every once in awhile. Bruno, would love to be in JA with you as Scott and I lived there from '80-82' so we could visit one of our 'homelands.' Dona Isis-keep in touch...fond memories of you and all you did for me not only in typing class, but as a friend. All the best to each of you.

Donna Aarsvold Tollefson     Class of: 1975     Wednesday, December 14, 2005 0 26

Which Steve are you?? Steve Strasma?? Here's another option we talked about at the first reunion -get one volunteer per class who will be in charge of contacting other class members. Or one person could contact several classes.

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, December 13, 2005 14 4

Check out the Beacon Hotel (www.beacon-hotel.com). It's $185 a night (unless you want an ocean view, which is more), is on the beach, has a bar, a restaurant, is in the middle of South Beach (lots of restaurants) and is 15 minutes from the airport.

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1974     Tuesday, December 13, 2005 13 59

I remember a great hotel on Miami Beach - The Fontainebleau, but that was tons of years ago. It was a magnificant place but it was expensive then...if it's still there it will still be extra-expensive now. Other than that, I could send Rosemary Visschers an e-mail and ask her for some suggestions; she grew-up there for the most part and should be able to recommend something in all price ranges. I think Sue Miller lives in Ft. Laurdale...she might be able to help. I just checked and it's still there...fabulous, go look at their website...amazing place. It looks like the rooms run from broom closet $120/night to 360 degree ocean view suites for $400/night and that was just a quick look. Fritz - apparently you've listened to it 6000 times...might want to check the math :) Nobody has listened to it more than me and I've only got a 4579 times listening count...hey hey mama, what's a matter here...hey hey baby...and on and on End of June works for me...if we can firm up a specific date early that will help with the planning for me at least. Most folks have their e-mail addresses listed on the contact page...it would just be a matter of taking the time to put a master list together from that if nobody has one already...and of course, that could take a while right? I guess there is no way from the EAC page to post something that goes out to everyone listed? What about the list that was used for the last reunion? I used to get tons of e-mails about that one and there were several people on that...where did that go? It would be a place to start. We either post it here, post it somewhere in here or we do it by e-mail or all the above. Am I missing something? We could call each other...if everyone called someone they know, we might get lucky and make a lot of contacts and start the ball rolling... All I know is I missed Dallas, Miami, and Campinas...I'm not missing the next one if it's anywhere in the US. Outside may be a little more difficult; I have two kids getting ready to go to college and spending a few thousand to go overseas would be a challenge...not impossible but difficult...as much as I'd love to go back to EAC, I just don't see it in the near future for me. Unless there is someone amoung us that has hit the lottery and is willing to pay for everyone to go...I would if I hit the big one!!! But I'm just that kinda guy ;) Anyway, somebody step-up and let's get this show on the road. The sooner the better! Steve

Steve     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, December 13, 2005 13 40

OK, we need to 1. Pick a date 2. Pick a hotel 3. Get the word out That's pretty much it. Is everybody OK with the end of June? Does anyone have any suggestions for hotels? I'll certainly help with getting the word out. ann

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1972     Tuesday, December 13, 2005 8 50

We have a daughter getting married around June 17th....so after that, I'll need some rest on the beach in Miami...Lets go.....And Campinas in August.

Mike R     Class of: 1973     Monday, December 12, 2005 22 19

Actually, as far as the planning goes, my thought would be that maybe we try to do someting that doesn't require a lot of planning; you know...just pick a weekend that has some support and pick a nice hotel on the beach and say "This is it...we're meeting at this time and venue and all are invited. Make your own reservations etc." I think that as long as there is a pool/beach to hang out at and accomodating bartenders we should be good to go! The trick is to get the word out. I've been out of the loop somewhat and don't really have any kind of email list. I can see what Mikey's got in that regard. Anyone wanting to put something more substantial together is certainly welcome to take it on.

Tyson Roe     Class of: 1980     Monday, December 12, 2005 21 59

Is someone going to roll with this effort to have a reunion in Miami in 2006? We need to move now I suspect if we are going to make a sincere attempt. I know I'll be there and Pat Graham indicated that she would attend as well. So, there are two of us for sure :) Anyway, would love to see as many people as possible and it seems fitting for a 50 year anniversary to have everyone get together. I haven't been around many EACers since we had the first reunion in Virgina Beach way back in....1986 I think or somewhere around there. Let's get this airplane off the ground...is it rolling yet Jimmy? Not even yet....as the song goes! Anyone remember where this is from? It's not the exact words I don't think but those that are true fans will know!

Steve     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, December 7, 2005 14 12

Hi Tyson: I'm interested in Miami, especially if it's after the kids get out of school (end of June). What time of the year were you looking at?? ann

Ann Rollo Kaminski     Class of: 1972     Monday, December 5, 2005 13 5

I'd do my best to get to Miami AND Campinas...

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Friday, December 2, 2005 17 55

Just touching base to see who might be lurking out there...I've read a couple of posts of folks agreeing that a Miami '06 reunion might be fun...how 'bout we start stirring the pot some and getting some real interest brewing? : )

YYYYEEEEEHHHHHAAAAAAA...that's Texas for HELL YES, MIAMI IN 2006!!!! Steve

Steve     Class of: 1976     Friday, September 30, 2005 15 20

Hey Tyson. Good thought about Miami in 2006. I am sure that some would not be able to get to Brazil and Miami is a perfect location for all. Wish I had been able to get to Dallas a few years ago. My brother Kevin Graham was able to go and at least I got to see pictures. Take care, Patricia 1976

Patricia Adams     Class of: 1976     Wednesday, September 28, 2005 21 24

The school has every right to have a reunion anytime it chooses, and can certainly hold it at EAC. But for those who can't make a trip south of the equator I think a little get-together in Miami in '06 would be the bomb! Very little planning, just an informal gathering at some hotel on the beach! Maybe a group trip to a Brazilian restaurant to boot.

Tyson Roe     Class of: 1980     Tuesday, September 27, 2005 20 18

yo steve.... who cares about pink floyd, the stones are on the road again! anyway, looks like the next reunion will be in campinas in august 2006. Official announcements from the school should appear any day now...

Fritz     Class of: 1974     Wednesday, August 24, 2005 8 48

Is there anybody out there???? Did anyone see the Pink Floyd reunion on Live 8? It was awesome!!! Made the other 12 hours worth watching. Brought back a lot of Brasilian memories for me. Anyway, just wanted to say hello. What's this I here about a 2006 reunion? In Miami? Steve

Hello     Class of: 1976     Tuesday, August 23, 2005 15 53

Here is your chance to attend a mini-reunion in 2006. Bruno (Sobral) will be in Jamaica during the second week in August and is looking for other alumni to spend the week with. Anyone interested contact me at cazmax@aol.com...... Ann Rollo (Secretary to Bruno Sobral - who volunteered me for this job??? and yes, I will probably be there as well)

enjoy!
